New OptiGO! service from Veolia – a guarantee of maintaining thermal comfort while reducing operating costs

2024-03-05

Veolia launched the OptiGO! – a comprehensive solution supporting effective management of thermal energy in buildings, which allows you to save energy, reduce costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The heart of the OptiGO! system is a modern Energy Management Center - Hubgrade, which allows you to remotely and continuously monitor heat consumption in the building and then adapt it to the current weather and the needs of the building maintaining thermal comfort, which in turn contributes to reducing energy bills and improving the energy efficiency of the building.

The system also offers financial and environmental benefits: on average for one building supplied with system heat, from one OptiGO! allows you to generate approximately 269 GJ/year of final energy savings, almost 19 [t/year] reduction in CO2 emissions and 13,4 percent reducing heat consumption.

.

The obligation to improve the energy efficiency of residential and public buildings is currently one of the most important challenges for property owners and managers. Buildings in the European Union (EU) collectively account for approximately 40 percent of energy consumption and 36 percent of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. It is for this reason that construction today plays a key role in the fight against air pollution throughout the European Union.

Veolia's solutions in Poland for reducing energy consumption are a response to the challenge related to the rising costs of electricity and heat. They are also an important aspect of the company's pro-ecological strategy, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the natural environment.

Krzysztof Zamasz, member of the management board, commercial director of the Veolia Group in Poland"Veolia in Poland aims to achieve emission neutrality by 2050. Our ambition is to decarbonize not only our own assets, but also to support our partners from the municipal sector, where energy efficiency is a priority.. OptiGO! system is a modern tool that allows you to actively control your own energy consumption, helping customers make informed decisions. We believe that energy self-awareness is a key element of a responsible approach to consumption, and our company is committed to supporting such practices".

Currently, approximately 75 percent of buildings in the European Union are energy inefficient. To encourage Member States to make changes, the European Commission is setting new standards. An amendment to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) is expected to enter into force soon. Its primary goal is to ensure zero emission of buildings by 2050, which will contribute to achieving climate neutrality of the entire European Union, but also to eliminating energy poverty, improving the comfort of life and health, while having a positive impact on the economy and energy security. Amendment to the EU Building Directive, which is to be adopted in March this year. means new obligations for property owners and managers.

Energy losses generated by buildings can be reduced by implementing efficiency solutions such as OptiGO!, which for a building equipped with one heating node can generate on average approx. 269,000 GJ/year of final energy savings, almost 19,000 [t/year] CO2 emission reductions and 13,4, 1700 percent reduction in heat consumption. Currently, Veolia manages over 13,4 buildings in Poland, generating average energy savings of XNUMX%. Currently, this solution has been expanded to include access to Veolia's financing and expertise.

Piotr Sprzączak, Development Director, ESCO Business Line: "Thanks to energy audits within OptiGO! we support the optimization of energy consumption from various sources, which allows for better control of operating costs. Building managers receive comprehensive support, access to financing and expertise from Veolia, thanks to which both they and residents can enjoy lower energy bills while maintaining comfort and safety.. At Veolia, we develop a wide range of efficiency products, including the OptiGO! We are currently expanding our offer with another solution in the ESCO formula, aimed at reducing energy consumption, improving energy efficiency, and reducing energy-related costs".
